CYC Facebook

Just a reminder to our membership, only members and their spouses whose names appear in the CYC Registry will be able to login to the CYC Facebook Group. Be advised that the group will be purged of all members who do not meet this requirement during the off-season. Your cooperation s appreciated.

CYC Registry

In an effort to ensure that the CYC Registry is up-to-date and ready to go to print by Lift-in, CYC members are asked to submit any changes (email, address, phone, partner, etc.) to Dennis McAndrew no later than 31 March 2022.

Fleet Captain Notes

There will be a Fleet Captain's on Monday, February 7th at 7:30PM, via Zoom. All interested members are welcome to attend, and suggestions for topics are welcome. There will be a guest speaker at this meeting to discuss the planned courses for this year's Georgian Bay Regatta, and a progress report on Fleet Captain's plans will be provided.

Remember, for the first away race and cruise of the season, the Midland Bay Sailing Club has invited our fleet to participate in their Ice Breaker Race on Victoria Day weekend. Collingwood boats, whether racing or not, are invited to come to Midland and stay for the weekend without any fees. To thank Midland Sailing Club, it has been suggested that we host a barbeque at their club house, on either Saturday or Sunday evening, using their kitchen and barbeques. There will be a small fee, but just to recover any expenses. Volunteers will be required, and an email will be sent to our membership to determine the level of interest and to provide an estimate of the numbers in advance, so that slips, rafting or anchoring can be arranged as required.

The Fleet Captain is looking for someone to video record two races, possibly edit the video and present it to the racers the same evening. If any members know an amateur videographer that would be willing to assist with this, please advise Douglas Young. The product does not have to be professional quality, but we would love to give someone a chance to showcase their talent. See the link below for information on how to record a video from a boat. Social Committee - Events

The CYC Social Committee was hoping to restart our social activities in February, unfortunately the Provincial guidelines has made it impossible for both January and February, with the club being restricted to ten fully vaccinated members allowed to gather inside until 21 February.
We are hoping that if social gathering numbers are increased after 21 February, that we can plan a St. Patrick's Day "Wear the Green" party on 17 March.
Otherwise, our first pub night is tentatively planned for 8 April and a Meet and Greet on 10 April. More details to follow in the social calendar, which will be released in the end-February ECOLYAC.
Time to party (hopefully)!!!

Euchre Sundays
