What to do if there is a fuel spill in the narbour

Chemical or Fuel Leak or Spill in Our Harbour Basin

Fuel leak response process:

1.Inspect any report of fuel or chemical spill.

2.Contact Coast Guard *16 cell call.

3.Contact Town, Dean Collver 705 445-1030 ext. 3238

4.Contact the Ministry of the Environment (MOE) Barrie 1 800 268-6060

5.Follow recommendations and keep all parties up to date.

CYC spill supplies: absorbent pads are being purchased by the club and will be kept in the tool shed when acquired.

Communication:

Anyone detecting a possible fuel spill should report it immediately to the direction of facilities and/or mooring.

The board will immediate communication to members of the club to affect a complete boat inspection to identify the offending vessel.
